Sourdough Bread Pudding

For me, bread pudding is old-time comfort food. In restaurants, we would save leftover bread and pastry and repurpose them into a delightful breakfast treat.

 2 cups Granulated Sugar
 5 Eggs (large)
 2 cups Milk
 2 tbsp Bourbon or Brandy
 3 cups Sour Dough Bread (stale/cubed)
 ½ cup Brown Sugar (packed)
 ¼ cup butter (unsalted)
 1 cup Apple (julienned)
 1 cup Raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Grease 13x9x2 inch baking dish
Place bread cubes in baking dish
Mix together in a bowl -- Granulated sugar, eggs, brandy, and milk
Pour mixture over bread cubes, toss until coated and let sit for ten minutes
In another bowl mix and crumble together brown sugar, butter, apples, and raisins and sprinkle over top of the bread mixture
Bake for 35-40 minutes
remove from oven
