Should We Give Social Security to illegals?
Washington, D.C. — Koinonia News
What’s your opinion of Illegal immigration? More than that, what is your opinion of paying benefits to support illegal immigrants?
According to Democrat presidential hopeful Kirstin Gillibrand (D-NY), Social Security needs to be expanded to include people living in the United States illegally. This attitude fits with the entitlement minded, socialist-democrat party’s progressive agenda to incentivize the millions of illegals set to enter our country this year.
Under current U.S. law, only legal immigrants are entitled to Social Security benefits after paying into the program for the requisite amount of time.
It has been a Democrat talking point for quite sometime now to insinuate that social security is simply an entitlement. Liberals in congress have been raiding social security funds for decades. This as well as expanding the list of those qualified to receive benefits without having contributed to the fund, is it any wonder the system is near bankrupt?
Please don’t understand, helping the disabled and others unable to provide for themselves is a laudable cause. However, stealing form senior citizens who’ve paid into Social Security throughout their working lives to support others who have not contributed is immoral.
According to a 2010 analysis by the Social Security Administration’s Office of Retirement and Disability Policy, the program’s trust fund is expected to be exhausted by 2037. Social Security either has or is expected to soon begin paying out more in benefits than it earns in revenues.
As a senior citizen myself, I am incensed that the payments I’ve been depositing into Social Security are continually being diverted to folks who have not contributed a dime to the program. To make matters worse, Socialist Democrats continually refer to seniors as being greedy for voicing concern about the solvency of the Social Security system. This system was set up as a contributory system to be used as a retirement safety net, not a charitable entitlement.
Social Security and Medicare are NOT Entitlements — We’ve Paid for Them!
“First, we need comprehensive immigration reform,” the 2020 hopeful and New York senator said during a campaign stop in Davenport, Iowa. “If you are in this country now you must have the right to pay into Social Security, to pay your taxes, to pay into the local school system and to have a pathway to citizenship. That must happen.”
Why on God’s green earth Senator, must we give a pathway to citizenship to people who flout our laws? We are in the midst of a NATIONAL EMERGENCY centered around immigration, and this nutball presidential candidate wants to encourage more lawless immigration.
Gillibrand is speaking gibberish here. Everyone who is in the USA is already required to pay taxes. This is double speak given her past as an immigration hawk. In 2009, the New York senator voted to increase funding for ICE and once said she believed English should be the official language of the United States.
Gillibrand is currently near the bottom of the Democratic pack in most current national primary polls.
